Review: Saving Mr. Banks is easily one of the best movies to come out this year. It tells the story behind the creation of the beloved classic Mary Poppins Disney, but there is so much more than just a typical movie making films Fig. Although many of these types of movies Arent as good as the film they are about, this is different. This is a companion piece to favorite classics. It allows us to evaluate attempts Disney had to go through to do his Magnum Opus. However, it is also about cross the PL and why she loves her character so much and why Mary Poppins but a special place in her heart.Director John Lee Hancock does a great job of making this film something special. He'll witty humor with emotional depth, but it does without being too silly or melodramatic. The film is also well written, it is more personal than just a movie about making a movie. Certain topics and moving on are handled well and in fact will be relatable to anyone watching.The performances are first rate. Tom Hanks makes a decent Disney and it is not sugar coated either. Real standouts are Emma Thompson and Colin Farrell. They give strong performances dimension makes us really care and compassion characters.Overall Saving Mr. Banks is truly a great and beautifully told film. Individual components may not be the best years, but full movie is the whole package. Picture as an example of why we go to the movies and what's entertainment business Disney. This is a film that is equal parts heartfelt, funny, charming, funny and emotionally satisfying. I give it 5.5
